Rock Grotto
Roger Waters In the Flesh tour 2002
I've always loved going to see a live show ever since the age of 15 with my first concerts being Hawkwind live at the Oxford new theatre in 1976 and Pink Floyds Animals tour in 1977.... both awesome experiences at the time. Since then I have been to see many bands but it wasn't until recently that I had the idea of taking my camera along to shows and then uploading the pictures to this site.

I suppose years ago there was no real need to capture the event on film cause I always knew I'd be able to see the band the next time around. The years have, unfortunately, taken their toll on some of my old favourites.. some of them are no longer together, some have died and others simply don't tour these days.

So, whenever I go to see a show nowadays, I always take my trusty little Fuji mx1200 digicam along and snap as many shots as I can which I, in turn, upload to this site. The "digital" quality isn't in the same league as an analogue SLR camera but is a lot more discreet (easy to get it into venues where photography is disallowed) and it saves a hell of a lot of money on films and developing and time spent scanning in the photos. As you can see, from the pictures I've already taken, it doesn't do a bad job of capturing the event, the only thing that really lets it down is the omission of a zoom lens which means I have to be quick off the mark to get front row seats for every concert! I hope you enjoy the pics and if you have any early floyd stuff you want included on the site then please send me an e-mail and I will consider adding them.
